Race Overview

Why International Bettors Follow the Prix de la Foret

The Prix de la Foret is one of France’s major Group 1 sprint races and has been a fixture of the ParisLongchamp autumn programme since 1858. Run over 1400m, the race sits between the specialist sprinting and mile divisions and attracts high-class horses from across Europe.

The race is particularly interesting for international bettors because it regularly features runners from France, Britain and Ireland. The 2026 renewal is also part of the major Arc weekend, alongside the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and several other Group 1 contests. France Galop lists the race as a Group 1 for horses aged three and older, with a maximum field of 20 runners.
