Why International Bettors Follow the Preis des Winterfavoriten

The Preis des Winterfavoriten is a key autumn fixture in the German racing calendar. Run over a mile at Cologne, it brings together promising two-year-olds at a stage when their performances can offer clues about their potential as three-year-olds.

The race is particularly interesting to international racing fans because several past winners have gone on to achieve major success. Fantastic Moon, the 2022 winner, subsequently won the German Derby in 2023. The 2026 renewal features six confirmed starters, including Laveran, Tango Dancer and Taylor Made.
